Vicious stunties - will I make it this time?

Here's a promise for this year.

Some years ago I got a Chaos Dwarf army in my hands, and it still waits a proper paint job. I've had few poor tryouts with these fellas - I've tried a green scheme, true retro scheme, and some other more or less not functional schemes...

I think this year I will make it finally. Last year I discovered a non-stress way to paint effectively and fast, thanks to acrylic inks and traditional inks. The way I used different inks on my clients blood angels terminators and scouts (...and Aeon Blacksmith's robe) truly changes the way how I think painting miniatures.

After I get some other works done I'll dive into the world of fantasy battles again, and I shall finish what I started. This fifth time will be the last I guess. Even the army ain't playable at the moment and I don't have some of the crucial units, I will paint what I have and that's it.

How about the scheme?

Let's go with grimy retro red this time. Blackened steel, beards of smoky black and some rich golds. Maybe some icy blue to go with the magical elements... hmm hmm. Let's open the book of Tamurkhan once more.

  2. Cool.
Gotta love those babylonian little bastards.

It has to be said though - it would be even cooler still to see you take on the fantastic new forgeworld chaos dwarfs...

    1. I also love the new stuff FW has created, but too pricey for me... Iron demon, infernal guard and other warmachines are brilliant pieces of art. Ahh....

  4. Good old times, even in unopened blisters, sniff.

    Retro red - definetly yes.
Icy blue could be very striking but consider to test neon / chemical green also?

    1. I was lucky to get those.. .Even the picture is now about 3-4 years old, I still have some of the blisters unopened. I've painted the Lord on Taurus and it turned out great.
